Horsham’s FREE small business exhibition is back for its 11th show from 10-4 on the 9th March 2013, but is it worth taking the time out on a Saturday to attend? We all know these events can be tedious and boring, companies trying to woo you with colourful branded sweets (best not to ask who’s hands have been rummaging in that bowl) prize draws being offered by tired faced exhibitors in an airless, hot hall. On the other hand, if you are looking to start or already run a small local business it may be worth facing and getting to Horsham’s Drill...

In light of the recent snowy spell, you’d be forgiven for not wanting to get your boots on and head down to the woods today. But thankfully, the bluebells of spring are just around the corner and we know of plenty of walking routes that come with stunning views and a country pub to boot. It’s time to get back out there. In the Horsham area, we are blessed with some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. Add to that a colossal sandpit, duck pond, nature garden and dragon maze and you’ve got a sort of magical toddler utopia. After a good run around, head to one of Horsham’s many cafes for a coffee and a babyccino, safe in the knowledge that your littl‘un...

Did anyone notice it’s been a bit on the chilly side this week? Haldi, Southwater’s long-standing Indian restaurant. Located just three miles from Horsham, in Southwater’s village centre, Haldi was opened 12 years ago by owner Jay Choudhury and is the village’s only restaurant. Because of the close location to Horsham (with its ever-increasing abundance of eateries) Haldi has always had to compete, and does so by providing a slight alternative to the classic Indian restaurant formula we all know and love. They specialise in (and are experts with) fish and duck, making any of their dishes available with the...

And that’s before you’ve even thought about the turkey! So it’s good to know you can get everything you need in Horsham this festive season. According to the town centre promotions, being in Horsham is ‘time well spent’. That’s probably because, when it comes to shopping, the market town has something for everyone. There are four main areas; Swan Walk, Piries Place, The Forum, and West Street. Parking is pretty easy too, with a handful...
