Shakeaway comes to Horsham

Last week it was announced that popular milkshake bar Shakeaway will soon be coming to our town. Currently, Horsham residents have to travel to Sussex towns like Crawley and Brighton to get their Shakeaway fix. However, soon they’ll be able to sample hundreds of tasty shakes in the middle of the Carfax.

Since opening their doors in 1999, Shakeaway has charmed milkshake and smoothie-lovers up and down the country. Not content with strawberry, chocolate and banana, this smooth operator blends whatever sweet and delicious thing you can think of – from lemon curd and lychees to blackcurrant cheesecake, chocolate biscuits and rice pudding.

Sadly, the ribbon across the door of the Horsham Shakeaway shop hasn’t been cut just yet. While you wait for your extra-large peanut butter and banana shake topped with popping candy and toffee popcorn, slurp this super-cute strawberry polka-dot milkshake instead!

Strawberry polka-dot milkshakeIngredients

Serves 2

375ml milk
2 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream
150g fresh strawberries, chopped
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
6 marshmallows, cut in half

1. Chuck the milk, ice cream, strawberries and vanilla extract into a blender and mix together until smooth.

2. Grab the marshmallows and press the cut side into empty glasses.

3. Pour the milkshake into the glasses and serve.

If you want to show off, add some squirty cream to the top, pop on a cherry and serve with stripy straws.
