Piazza Italia Marks Ten Years

2016 is the 10th anniversary of the hugely popular Piazza Italia, which takes place each Easter in the central Carfax of Horsham.

A free event organised by Horsham District Council, it takes place over the bank holiday weekend of 25th March to the 28th March and features a huge range of Italian sport cars, fresh pizza and music performed in the Bandstand.

Community atmosphere

Piazza Italia is definitely a highlight of the year and attracts excited families from neighbouring towns and villages, which benefits our local shops in the town centre. The now famous van of the event was even decorated by Horsham based company SL2 Signs.

The prominent Italian flag signals for many the start of the event, along with the convoy of red ferrari’s and replica DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Not to be missed

Take time out and visit the thriving Italian market for a bite to eat and even enjoy local beers from Hepworth’s brewery tent, but with a unique Italian twist. There will also be opportunities throughout each day to help raise money for children’s charities with the £10k challenge.

Friday will raise money for Chestnut Tree House, Saturday will be for The Children’s Trust and Monday will be in aid for Winston’s Wish.

Ferrari super cars

Each morning, the super cars will parade through town from 9.45am and assemble in the pedestrianised centre. This year, due to the anniversary, there will also be a range of street entertainers throughout the day and PS4 racing in Swan Walk; a great addition for kids.

As you head to town for shopping and relaxed lunches in the warm spring weather, enjoy Piazza Italia and let it become the highlight of your Bank Holiday weekend, as well as an annual tradition for your family.
