Andy Laurillard, owner of the family run business ‘The Giggling Squid’ announced he is taking over the premises vacated by Giraffe in Horsham, and hopes to open by February 2014. He was very keen to add Horsham to his growing portfolio of restaurants in the South East. The Giggling Squid is a unique restaurant with a rustic feel, it produces high quality Thai food that is beautifully presented. The restaurant design is quite quirky and they use a lot of natural materials to create a reclaimed feel.

The Tapas restaurant at lunch time offers Thai food for great value, and has proved to be extremely popular. Many of the dishes include seafood which reflects the balance of Thai Cuisine. The Giggling squid already has branches in Brighton, Crawley and Reigate, and this will be their ninth restaurant.

East Street is one of the most attractive and popular eating venues in Sussex. There is already a Thai restaurant in Horsham, The River Kwai (a popular independent Thai restaurant) located nearby. The River Kwai has been in Horsham for 27 years, and still has the original chef. But will it suffer from the new Thai chain restaurant opening?
