In Horsham, the Christmas feeling is already amongst us. Swan Walk have begun to hang their Christmas decorations, the Snowman is out for all to see and festive wrapping paper is taking over the shops. Soon, the merry markets will be in town, so we thought we’d break them down for you. Here’s what’s going on this December:
Christmas Market: the Best of British
To celebrate the British seasonal produce, Horsham Market is hosting their Best of British Christmas market. Take a wander around the stalls and gander at the food, drink, decorations and gifts on offer. These markets start from the 29th of November every Sunday up until Monday 21st, where they will feature every day up until and including Christmas Eve. The perfect opportunity to go around with friends and pick up some special gifts!
Fairtrade Christmas Market
Fairtrade Horsham are hosting their very own Christmas market again this year, on Saturday the 28th of November at St John’s RC Church Hall. Join them from 10am until 4pm to buy fairtrade products from producers in poorer countries. Find a fairtrade Christmas present for your friend or family member, and help to bring a fairer society to third world countries at the same time!
Late Night Shopping
Yes, it’s that time of year already! Late night shopping officially starts on the 3rd of December and runs up to the 17th, so every Thursday evening you can shop until 8pm. You’ll get free parking between 4pm and 8pm, and can stroll around Swan Walk to gather your festive goodies for friends and family.
Carfax Bandstand Music
Amongst the usual Saturday local produce markets, different bands and carolers will be performing at the bandstand every weekend from Saturday the 5th of December until Saturday the 19th. Bands such as Horsham’s very own Borough Band (HBB) and Windjammers will be performing memorable Christmas songs to get local people in the spirit.
With all these fantastic events, you won’t want to miss out on this festive cheer!
