If you’re a fan of vintage glamour and French chic, raid your piggybank and make your way to the Carfax this weekend. The Horsham market on Sunday 6th October is a free event from 10am through to 4pm. The market brings together French and Vintage traders and is extremely popular, attracting thousands of visitors to the town. France at Home is one of the South’s favourite visiting markets. Stalls are busy from early in the morning with customers buying delightful foods like cheeses and breads. Unique French homeware and a variety of gifts are also available for visitors to purchase. At the...

Horsham has a vibrant music scene, which we’ve previously spoken about on this blog. However, what the town has been lacking is a major music festival – until now. In less than three weeks’ time, big-name bands like The Feeling will take to the stage along with local acts at Rockin The Park Horsham. Ten years ago, music-lovers could get their festival fix from Fanfare In The Park, a large scale event that was held every year. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been staged since 2002. Between then and now, the local music scene has been ticking along with intimate pub gigs...

Last week it was announced that popular milkshake bar Shakeaway will soon be coming to our town. Currently, Horsham residents have to travel to Sussex towns like Crawley and Brighton to get their Shakeaway fix. However, soon they’ll be able to sample hundreds of tasty shakes in the middle of the Carfax. Since opening their doors in 1999, Shakeaway has charmed milkshake and smoothie-lovers up and down the country. Not content with strawberry, chocolate and banana, this smooth operator blends whatever sweet and delicious thing you can think of – from lemon curd and lychees to blackcurrant cheesecake, chocolate biscuits...

Horsham Park, an asset to the town. Busy on any sunny day, full of children playing, teens playing frisbee, hanging out or enjoying the well-used skate park, and families in the popular Pavilion’s outdoor pool. That’s all great if you want ACTIVE, but what if you want to be still, relax in peace, or enjoy a quiet picnic with the kids away from the bustle, without the risk of getting hit by a ball or your head taken off by a low flying Kite? This could be the place for you, tucked on the southern edge of Horsham Park next...

Horsham’s FREE small business exhibition is back for its 11th show from 10-4 on the 9th March 2013, but is it worth taking the time out on a Saturday to attend? We all know these events can be tedious and boring, companies trying to woo you with colourful branded sweets (best not to ask who’s hands have been rummaging in that bowl) prize draws being offered by tired faced exhibitors in an airless, hot hall. On the other hand, if you are looking to start or already run a small local business it may be worth facing and getting to Horsham’s Drill...
