With the current climate in the UK, this summer holiday is the perfect time to go out and enjoy the warm weather! Take a look at our list of fun summer holiday activities, based both in and around Horsham, West Sussex.

Horsham Park

This summer, Horsham Park will be home to a variety of exciting events – there’s something for everyone!

Battle of the Bands

On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July, local musicians will compete in Horsham’s Battle of the Bands, held in the Human Nature Garden. Gates will open at midday, and guests can take advantage of licensed bars, local food vendors and a free circus workshop for kids.

Battle of the Bands the perfect opportunity for a fun family day in the park, and it enables you to discover new bands and explore new music!

Fake Festival

Horsham’s famed Fake Festival will be taking place on 20th August in the park. Home to some great tribute bands, this year’s lineup includes bands such as Oasish, Guns2 Roses, Kazabian, New2, Stereotonics and The Jam’d.

A bar and a small range of food stalls will be present, and the concert itself will be held inside a marquee – so the weather can’t be an obstacle ! The festival is primarily about the music but, if the weather allows it, there will be a number of stalls, rides/inflatables for the children, face painting, and more. This event is great for family fun, as it can be inclusive for the little ones (so long as they don’t mind the noise!).

Open Air Cinema

Want some fresh air and a chance to see Spider-Man: No Way Home? On 15th September, Silent Summer Screenings are hosting an open air cinema in Horsham! Unlike some other open air cinemas, this one uses wireless headphones for the event’s sound to create a more immersive experience while also being respectful to surrounding residents and wildlife.

Snacks and drinks are available, alongside some of the finest local caterers if you desire something more substantial.

Loxwood Joust

On 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th August, Loxwood are holding their medieval joust and festival, the perfect event for the whole family. Loxwood is jam packed with activities, all under the medieval theme to give you the most immersive experience.

Children can discover a vast range of special activities in the children’s kingdom – a festival within the festival – where they can learn a great deal of medieval skills! For the rest of the family and the older kids, Loxwood offers a multitude of workshops and experiences. From forging steel at the blacksmith to learning the art of sword fighting, the medieval festival has something to offer everyone this summer. They even offer ceremonies, such as friendship ceremonies or even weddings!
